Marloes founded Allergyplatform in 2003 to share knowledge about allergies and the low FODMAP diet (professionals and general public). My name is Astrid Oosterhuis and I have been writing blogs for Fodmap since May. Ever since I can remember, I am interested in food, cooking and everything that matters with it. During my education Veterinary Natural Medicine (Natural Medicine for Animals), food was also widely discussed. I have been able to apply the holistic approach to living beings when I worked as a lifestyle coach. In order to be able to form a well-founded vision for myself, I have also done a weight counseling course. Even though I’m not currently working as a lifestyle coach, I like to share my gained knowledge and vision about nutrition and Fodmap in these blogs.
Hello, My name is Lily. I am Russian married to a Dutchman, since 2007 we live in South of France. The last 5 years I have IBS (as a result of an operation) and the last 2 years also reflux.
After graduation from the University (linguistics- western languages) I have worked for 18 years in the international television industry and stopped in 2008. Since then I paint flowers with oil: it began as a hobby and grew quickly in a passion for me. Since I followed elimination and reintroduction courses with a dietician last year, my IBS is under control most of the time. My husband and I like travelling, especially cruising, so I spend a lot of time away from home. I know how difficult it is for someone with IBS to lead a normal life and be a happy person. Knowing what exactly you can and can not eat, and adjusting your lifestyle makes it possible.
My name is Natasja, I am 30 years old and grew up in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, North Brabant, the Netherlands. When I was 27, I immigrated to Lisbon, Portugal. I work as a supervisor in a contact center for a fashion webshop. Ever since I can remember, I get an irritated bowel when something exciting is about to happen. Since I live in Portugal, the stomach ache has become worse, and so I am currently following the FODMAP diet. Read about my experiences with the FODMAP diet in Lisbon.
Hi! My name is Karlijn, I am 25 years old and I work as an online marketing / SEO specialist. I love travelling and everything that has to do with food. I got diagnosed with IBS 5 years ago and I started the low FODMAP diet 2.5 years ago. I am currently still following an adapted version of the low FODMAP diet and I got a lot more insight in which products give me problems and which do not. When I just started the diet, I had difficulties finding low FODMAP recipes and therefore I decided to start my own blog. On my blog karlijnskitchen.com, I share low FODMAP recipes and lifestyle articles. My blog is my place to share my love for food and cooking and to combine this with my passion for online marketing. Over the past two years, it has grown into one of my biggest hobbies. For me, the most important thing is that everybody can enjoy food, also with intolerances and allergies!
As a member of the blog team, I will introduce myself. My name is Michelle, 27 years old and I am living with my boyfriend in Delft. I studied at University of Professional Education in 2010 (called ‘HBO’ in Dutch) and workedin the capacity of hospital nurse. Up until this day I am still working at a hospital as a CCU nurse. Are you wondering why I am part of this blog team? I love to have a good meal, especially in all kind of restaurants. In the past I literally ate everything in all combinations without any problems. However, mid 2016 my intestines started to protest with almost every meal. It seemed like I could not digest anything. Months passed without improvement, resulting inmultiple investigations and hospital visits. The outcome of the investigations was Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS, or in Dutch: PDS). Fortunately, nothing serious but with IBS, you need to change your lifestyle and investigate all the information, diets and eating patterns. I have started with medication and the FODMAP diet. I have always been interested in Nutrition and the effects on our bodies. By reading a lot of articles and various work experiences, my knowledge of these subjects has increased. The IBS and the FODMAP diet have given me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences, in this case by means of blogs.
I’m looking forward to it!
I am Robin van den Brink, 26 years old and born and raised in Veenendaal. From my puberty I suffered from abdominal pain and the PDS diagnosis soon came. I have tried almost everything to reduce the pain but nothing seemed to work. Eventually, I asked the dokter if I could do the FODMAP diet. I had not tried much with food elimination because I did not know where to start. At the hospital, I found myself fit for this diet and I follewed it under the guidance of a dietitian. I learned a lot more about my bowl and stomach and have a lot less complaints. I have always enjoyed writing, and I’m very excited about this diet so I would like to inspire others. So this is why I like to blog for allergy platform and fodmap diet! You can also follow me on Instragram @Roobje91, for more about the FODMAP diet.
